About the breed
Genuine ALD
History
Australian Labradoodles originated in Australia in the 1970s, when there was a desire to develop a breed that would be suitable for people with allergies and asthma, but which would also have the characteristics of a guide dog.
The breed has Labrador, Poodle, Irish Water Spaniel, and Cocker Spaniel ancestry.
Breed-specific organizations in Europe, Australia, and North America closely monitor the work of our breeders. Breeding monitoring has resulted in a very healthy and well-built breed.
Nature and size
Australian Labradoodles are intelligent, gentle, and active family dogs. Openness, curiosity, and sociability are among the breed’s basic characteristics. They are extremely trainable.
There are three size categories in the breed:
Mini size 35-43
Standard size 53-63
Medium size 43-53
Coat
The Australian Labradoodle’s coat has no undercoat and does not usually shed.
The coat must be trimmed at least 3-4 times a year and should be brushed and combed regularly to keep it looking beautiful. The Australian Labradoodle is a breed with a wide gene pool, so the coat can be more tangled or easier to care for. The color may also change as the dog matures. The coat can be curly and dense wool, curly, straight, or wavy fleece.
The breed may also be suitable for people with allergies and asthma, but it is not allergy-free. Since dog allergies are very individual, it is advisable to take your time when acquiring a dog and to visit different individuals in advance to get to know them.
